Emerging Futures 2018 is about skilling up and there’s a unique opportunity to expand your knowledge and get specialist advice from the team of experts at The Space

The Space Sessions – Digital Insights and practical support

  • Could you use Facebook Live or IGTV to reach a larger, more diverse, audience?
  • Are you keen to understand more about, and build, your audience online?
  • How should we create more interactive experiences?

Using real world examples – including how Empathy Museum’s A Mile In My Shoes reached new audiences, and how Emma Frankland’s exploration of gender identity Rituals for Change transitioned from stage to screen – the team will answer these questions and explore opportunities offered by the increasing number of digital platforms.

Session 1 – Doing Digital features lightning talks and Q&A from:

  • Joe Bell – Creative Digital Producer with interests in immersive media and digital history
  • Helen Spencer – Commissioning Executive (Formerly BBC, Channel 4, ITV)
  • Sarah Toplis – Commissioning Executive specializing in projects at intersection of art, design and technology
  • Sarah Fortescue – Distribution consultant with a background in marketing and development for arts and third sector organisations.

Session 2 – Ambitions & Advice is your opportunity to ask questions, receive and share advice and ideas in round table conversations. Come armed with questions – what are the challenges you face? What practical advice would you like? Where are the most inspiring examples you can learn from? And what experience and ideas can you share with others?

You can sign up for one session or attend both. We’re looking forward to meeting you!

The Space helps artists and organisations make great work and reach audiences digitally. We commission projects, support organisations to find and develop their audiences, and develop skills. As part of that we run a programme of workshops from Making Digital Work Accessible to Understanding Audiences.
