Maria Balshaw, the exciting new director at Tate, was one of this year’s keynote speakers at Emerging Futures 2018. She talked us through her career journey, filled with human anecdotes and life learnings. From having positive role models and encouragement to do the things she didn’t want to do, to bringing her dog to work, Maria hits on several things that contribute to her resilience and her ability to support others to thrive within her organisation.
"Keep work in its proper place…make time for friends, family, lovers…make time for your art form & creativity…don't forget to day dream…keep going on holidays" Just some of @mbalshaw advice on maintaining your 'bounce-back-ability' #bekindtoyourself #emergingfutures2018

Listening to @mbalshaw talking about the important of #kindness in leadership #emergingfutures2018 "I've always try to be kind…I don't think its a soft skill…Its a leadership skill we need now…Being nice doesn't mean you can't be direct & tough"💖 #artsandkindness #bekind
